Student Directors are representatives of the membership of MHSRA. These representatives are active participants on the MHSRA, Inc. Board of Directors and vote on any and all topics brought forward to the Board at each scheduled meeting.
Like other Board of Director members or Officers, the Student Director can add items to the agenda of the Board. Unlike other offices, the Student Directors are asked to speak at each and every Board of Directors meeting. It is important to hear the voice of the membership frequently.
Each Student Director has one vote on the Board of Directors. With a total of 13 votes possible (the President votes only to break ties) the Student Directors have a strong say in the workings of Minnesota High School Rodeo Association.
How are Student Directors appointed? Before the Annual Meeting of MHSRA the contestants themselves elect their peers (one boy and one girl) to represent the contestants for the upcoming year. It's a simple nomination and vote process. Only contestants are eligible, so you must be a member in good standing.
Contact a Student Director if you have an idea, concern or suggestion for your organization. Minnesota High School Rodeo Association is run for MEMBERS... that is, the CONTESTANTS in MHSRA.
