Each director serves a three-year term, and officers are elected annually at the June Annual Meeting. The officer ballot is filled with candidates selected by the Nominations Committee. The primary responsibility of the Officers and Board of Directors is to conduct business according to our Minnesota constitution and by-laws. Those rules and by-laws are derived from the National High School Rodeo Association, Inc. constitution, rules and by-laws<. We have annual ground rules to help us conduct our business and to give guidance to our membership about important issues as well. To facilitate the business of the Association, key committees are mandated by constitution or created by past precedent or need for the Association. Those committees, called Board Committees, meet prior to regular, monthly Board of Director meetings and present their recommendations to the board for action. Each committee has a committee head appointed by the President. For other special needs, the state constitution outlines that the President can create committees and appoint chairpersons as needed. Two special groups are generally formed -- committees for the Minnesota High School Finals Rodeo (MHSFR Committees) and for the National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR Committees). Officers
